Therapists / Counselors: Get creative and venture “outside of the box”
I was honored recently to be interviewed for a new series by Dr. Anne Perschel called, the “Creative Therapist Series” in which highlights therapists who are thinking “outside of the box” when it comes to creative alternatives to the traditional
therapy model. Dr. Perschel is a leadership, organizational and clinical psychologist and has an interesting story herself.
My adventure “outside of the box” has been creating The Toolbox at LisaKiftTherapy.com (and the various blogs within it including this one) – and my Therapy-At-Home Workbooks® series providing an alternative to face-to-face therapy / counseling for certain situations. And there are plenty of other therapist-types who are thinking along these lines as well – about how they can expand the boundaries of what they have always done by traditional psychotherapy but also adding to their income stream by providing educational tools to the public in different forms. I’ve seen people doing audio series, pay-per-membership forums, teleclasses and more.
Have you been considering supplementing your practice in such a way? How so? What’s holding you back?
