Authentic Self – False Self
Been thinking about the various ways that the “false self” manifests – and how distressing it is for some people when
they aren’t living “authentically.” I’ve found that at some point a “false self” can be almost too burdonsome to bear – and that’s what brings many to therapy.
If they can get to an awareness of the possibility they’ve erected this persona – and understand “why” – then change can start to happen. It’s beautiful to watch.
Any thoughts on this subject?

I totally agree with you. I think this is one of the most exciting aspects about doing therapy – being able to be a part of this type of self-awareness and broadening of possibilities happening for someone.
Yes, it is very exciting – and incredibly rewarding. I feel honored to do this work.
