Therapy-At-Home Workbooks® is the first counseling alternative workbook series for individuals and couples of it’s kind and I developed the “therapy at home” concept with a number of things in mind:
1) Traditional therapy and counseling is not affordable to everyone. The cost of my workbooks are significantly less than the fee for traditional counseling sessions with a licensed professional.
2) Many people aren’t comfortable going to therapy or counseling – for whatever reason. Whether it’s negative beliefs about the therapy process, fear or inconvenience, my workbook can be done from the comfort of home. I provide therapist guidance but you do the work in your own time frame.
3) People like instant gratification. There has been a dramatic rise in the popularity of ebooks due to the ability to instantly download them rather than going to a book store or waiting for a shipment. My workbooks contain worksheets to be pulled out and put back in when filled out - making the “ebook” format ideal for for these workbooks.
4) Many are “DIY” types. These days, many people have a “do it yourself” attitude about many things and the workbooks provide a “DIY” alternative to getting help from a licensed therapist via an alternate route..
***My workbooks aren’t suitable for everyone! If you are a high-conflict couple or a couple who has toxic levels of anger and resentment built up – you may be better suited for face-to-face therapy with a therapist in your area. You may still benefit from some of the ideas and tools provided – but nothing replaces a person sitting in front of you to manage difficult situations if they arise.*** See The Toolbox Therapist and Counselor Directory to find a local therapist.
