Passion, Sex and Intimacy: Keep the Fires of Passion Burning by Richard Nicastro, PhD

“Relationships (like the individuals in the relationship) have unique rhythms and cycles.  For some couples, passionPassion, Sex and Intimacy: Keep the Fires of Passion Burning remains a slow simmer throughout the life of their relationship; for others, intense sexual peaks followed by lulls and even periods of inactivity may be the norm.  Work to become aware of your (and your partner’s) sexual rhythms and note what increases passion in your relationship and what blocks the passion you and your partner desire.” - from Passion, Sex and Intimacy: Keep the Fires of Passion Burning, a workbook for couples

As a couples therapist, the issue of sex comes up frequently for people.  It’s almost impossible for two people to stay in sync sexually, particularly over the span of years.  It’s wonderful to see a workbook for couples to do together that addresses this complex issue in such an informed, intelligent and direct manner.  The author is a psychologist and relationship coach with extensive experience working with couples and it provides an excellent tool for those wanting to take a look at keeping the “fires of passion burning” in their marriages or relationships.

This workbook provides concrete exercises couples can do together addressing blocks to sexual intimacy, assessing each of your “sex scripts” and their origins, tips to boost passion – and passion obstacles.  Additionally there are discussions about sensuality and the role of fantasy.

I recommend this workbook to any couple wanting to kick things into gear again – or stoke the flames that once burned more brightly.
