5 Marriage Blogs That Rock
My site, The Toolbox at LisaKiftTherapy.com was recently nominated as a “top 10 marriage blog” for 2010 via a TheMarryBlogger.com. Considering my site is about
supporting marriage, relationship and emotional health (not necessarily marriage-specific), I was surpised but very honored. I checked out some of the other nominees, some of whom I’m familiar with and some I wasn’t but wow – what a group of powerhouse bloggers with fantastic content!
What I really appreciate is the mix of marriage “experts” trained in relationship dynamics and those with plenty of their own knowledge via the “school of life and experience.” This post is about spreading the love and sharing some my personal favorites who deserve an extra shout out. Some made the “top 10″ list mentioned above - and some didn’t.
Here are 5 marriage blogs that rock:
- Marriage Gems: Lori Lowe, researcher and writer, provides “research-based marriage tips to encourage marriage and families.” Her writing is very accessable and she has high quality content.
- Simple Marriage: Corey Allan is a Marriage and Family Therapist with a Ph.D. in family therapy. His motto is, ”Create better marriages by keeping things simple.” He and several other people contribute to his site.
- Hitched Mag: With a gaggle of marriage experts as contributors, this is a top notch resource for marriage that includes a forum and directory with products and services.
- Assume Love: Patty Newbold calls herself a “widow who got it right the second time.” This site is about the importance of not trying to change your spouse. It’s her way of “bringing more happiness, less financial stress, fewer psychological problems, and more love to married people, life partners, and their children.”
- Be The Smart Wife: Carin Goldstein is a Marriage and Family Therapist in Los Angeles and star of her own series of vlogs under the banner of “How to take care of yourself and your marriage without killing your husband…” She is a character for sure, bold and sassy - with very savvy marriage information.
Thanks to Stu from TheMarryBlogger for introducing me to marriage bloggers I’d never run across. And thanks to Twitter for revealing some of the others. There are clearly a slew of shining stars (including others not mentioned) committed to putting out valuable marriage advice and content.
